One of the classiest releases this week so far from Chris Ballin. It's not a cover of the Marvin Gaye song, it's a new song he co-wrote with Tommy Blaize who's featured on the blog previously, curiously/coincidentally, with a cover of the Marvin Gaye song ... I honestly couldn't make it up!
Chris is from Nottingham but inevitably relocated to London to pursue his
musical career. He has featured as lead vocalist on Incognito's 1997 album
"Beneath The Surface" and on another Jean-Paul Maunick (Bluey) project
"Inner Shade" album "4 Corners in 1998.
I seem to recall this being played as a breaker on 31 May on The Global
Soul chart, obviously before release as it was only released last week (22 Jun
2021).
