Mark Hill Feat. Ridney & Terri Walker [2023] - Missing You (Mark Hill Piano Mix) [Paharas Musica]

The song "Missing You" was originally released in 2013 as a set of four mixes. A set of seven mixes were released on 31 March '23 which included two of the original four mixes along with five new mixes to celebrate the 10th anniversary. 

An additional Mark Hill Piano Mix has been released today which takes the pace right down and converts the song into a ballad which is a stark contrast to the other, more club oriented, mixes. Terri Walker's vocals are so pure on this recording which highlights her classical music training.

Mark Hill may be better known as Artful as in Artful Dodger with Ridney being  Cafe Mambo Ibiza resident DJ Paul Richards. Terri Walker is of course, currently riding high with her latest album "My Love Story".

Terri Walker [2023] - My Love Story [Wings of a hummingbird records] (Full Album)

Terri Walker released the first single ("Finally Over You") from her new album "My Love Story" at the beginning of March and followed it with a much better one "I'm Not The One" on the 24 Mar. The full album was released last Friday (14 Mar '23).

It's a bit of a mixed bag from the first broken beats style first single, the soulful second one and a reggae/lover's rock style of "I Remember" to the Latin cum afro beats of  "Rhythm Of Change" and the mournful ballad "I Surrender". The tracks that seem to be gaining plaudits, in addition to "I'm Not The One", are "Fearless" and "You're Not Coming Home".

NOTE: My English grammar school teacher would be having a hairy fit regarding the casing of titles used today. So to avoid the 'ruler on the knuckles' treatment I have standardised to title case as it also drives me nuts as standards are there for a reason and how are mere mortal editors supposed to interpret the inconsistencies of upper and lower case used randomly and inconsistently? It's not big, it's not clever and it's not arty, it's just confusing and I'm grumpy having returned from paradise to cold and 'broken' Blighty so there you have it!

Terri Walker [2023] - I'm not the one [Wings of a hummingbird records]

The second single from Terri Walker's forthcoming album "A Love Story", due on 14 Apr '23, is "I'm not the one" is out today which follows the first, "Finally over you", from three weeks ago (3 Mar).

Terri Walker (Chanelle Gstettenbauer) was born in Wimbledon, London, but moved to Germany as a child returning to London later. She started to study opera aged 15 and began singing professionally at 18, initially singing with garage artists. 

She recorded her debut album "Untitled" for Def Soul (part of Def Jam) in 2003 and has since released a further three albums, "L.O.V.E" (2005), "I Am" (2006), "Entitled" (2015) and "Breakout" (2019).

Terri Walker [2023] - Finally over you [Wings of a hummingbird records]

She recorded her debut album "Untitled" for Def Soul (part of Def Jam) in 2003 and has since released a further three albums, "L.O.V.E" (2005), "I Am" (2006) and "Entitled" (2015). 

On Friday she released her first single of 2023, "Finally over you", which follows a broken beats track, "Sugarcane & Lime", last August which featured Melonyx as well as Zed Bias and Rampage Sound. The song has a slow, false, start so don't be fooled as it kicks on around the 47 second mark. I'm not quite sure how to categorise this one house/broken beat/dance?... so have just tagged it as new soul.
