Kubla [2023] - Close To The Sun [Self Released] (Full Album)

When we posted Canadian blue-eyed soul singer Kubla's (Kiaran McMillan from Ontario) last single "Losing Faith" last month we speculated that an album may be in the pipeline as he'd released four singles already this year. His debut album "Close To The Sun" was released on Friday.

All nine of his singles since Dec '21 are included (four of which we have posted "Move On" (Jan '22), "Running Loose" (Feb '23), "LadyLove" (Apr '23) And "Losing Faith" (May '23)) leaving two new songs, "Icarus" and "GTC (live from my stoop)" (video below).

Kubla [2023] - Losing Faith [Self Released]

It was only a month ago (8 Apr) that Kiaran McMillan from Ontario, under his stage name Kubla, released his last single "LadyLove" which he now follows with his latest offering "Losing Faith", which is one of his best and he seems to improve with each release.

With now nine singles (four already this year) and an EP to his name since emerging in 2019, it wouldn't surprise if an album was in the pipeline.

Kubla [2023] - Running Loose [Self Released]

Back a few weeks to 3 Feb for this release from blue-eyed soulie Kubla who has featured here before, almost exactly a year ago, with his single "Move On". His latest single "Running Loose" is in a similar vein and is a bit of a retro funky groover.

He is Canadian singer Kiaran McMillan from Ontario (his nickname/stage name came from the Samuel Taylor Coleridge poem 'Kublah Khan', the first two lines of which were used by Frankie Goes To Hollywood in "Welcome To The Pleasuredome" in 1984).
