Izo FitzRoy [2023] - Small Mercies (Art Of Tones Remixes) [Jalapeno Records]

When Izo FitzRoy released her album "A Good Woman" at the end of April one of the new songs that got attention was "Small Mercies". 

Over the last few weeks she has been releasing remixes of several of the album tracks ("Chasing Dreams (Sam Redmore Remix)" (23 Jun) and a Moods Remix of  "Give Me the High" (26 May)). The the latest is, you've guessed it, "Small Mercies" which gets an Art Of Tones Remix and Art Of Tone Dub Mix.

Art Of Tones is Paris born Ludovic Llorca who started out DJing in house and electro clubs in Belgium in the 90s.

Izo FitzRoy [2023] - Body Of Mine [Jalapeno Records]

When we first came across this new single, "Body Of Mine", from Izo FitzRoy we initially presumed that it was another cut from her "A Good Woman" album released at the end of April.

However, it isn't it's a new song co-written with Oscar De Jong who you may know as a member of Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak.

It's her third single since the album release, the other two were both remixes of album tracks "Chasing Dreams (Sam Redmore Remix)" (23 Jun) and a Moods Remix of  "Give Me the High" (26 May).

Izo FitzRoy [2023] - Chasing Days (Sam Redmore Remix) [Jalapeno Records]

"Chasing Days" was the fourth, and final, single pre-released in March from Izo FitzRoy's third album "A Good Woman" released at the end of April.

It has received a Sam Redmore Remix today which follows a Moods Remix of  "Give Me the High" earlier this month (the original version was another album track pre-released as a single).

The Redmore mix ups the tempo from 94 to 106 BPM.

Izo FitzRoy [2023] - Give Me the High (Moods Remix) [Jalapeno Records]

An artist we've been highlighting for a couple of years. whose music has been ignored, in the main, by soul listeners, is Izo Fitzroy. Thankfully that was rectified with her latest album "A Good Woman". 

The second single pre-released in Jan '23 before the album was "Give Me the High" which has been re-released with a Moods Remix.

The original had a retro 60s styling that we thought would appeal to the rare/Northern Soul crowd. Izo co-wrote the song with Oscar de Jong (who some may know from Dutch trio Kraak & Smaak) so it may come as no surprise that it's another Dutchman, Rotterdam based producer by Hans Lubbersen aka Moods,  who has remixed it. You may recall that he recently also did a remix for Reel People & Paula's "Vibe".
