ADIV feat. India Shawn [2023] - Perfect Time [84 Projects]

New Yorker ADIV (Alexander Duncan IV) is a new artist to us. For the last 15 years he's been predominantly a songwriter, writing for artists from Britney Spears to SZA. In 2020/21 he took the plunge to release his own  music as an artist in his own right.

His new single, "Perfect Time", is released today featuring India Shawn (no stranger to these pages) and is his sixth single along with a full album in 2021.

India Shawn [2022] - Before We Go (Deeper) [Epic] (Full Album)

Last Nov. (2021) India Shawn released an album "Before We Go". Five of the tracks had already been released as singles but the price of the album reflected that as it was priced at only £4.99.

Today (22 Jul 2022) she has re-released "Before We Go (Deeper)" with seven additional tracks: "When I Call", her last single "Exchange", "Caught In The Middle", "Same Floor". "Patience" and "Just You", the eagle eyed will notice that's only six but the other is just an intro. The picks of the new songs are "Just You" and "When I Call".

The artist/label have chosen to capitalise all titles which I've ignored as I don't really understand the relevance of it, artistic license? ... ok ... but it is so confusing for writers!

India Shawn [2021] - Before We Go [Epic] (Full Album)

The new 'album "Before We Go" from India Shawn released on 10 Nov 2021 is only seven tracks, five of which have already been released as singles, two already posted "Too Sweet" and "Don't Play With My Heart" . Therefore, there are only two new songs "Superfine" and "To Change My Mind". Both are OK but won't set the world alight.

I 'was' going to have a dig about major labels reselling existing tracks rather than new material until I noticed that the price of the full album is only £4.99 and not the normal £7.99 which I suppose is fair enough!

All the song titles are in capital letters. I don't know what the relevance of that is, so will ignore it and write how I was taught as it is confusing as to whether it is intentional or not.

India Shawn [2021] - Don't Play With My Heart [Epic]

India Shawn (aka India Boodram) last appeared on the blog back in March with a single released on 25 Feb feat. Unknown Mortal Orchestra "Too Sweet". Her first single since then, excepting a guest appearance on a rap single from Prince Hakeem, is "Don't Play With My Heart" released yesterday (6 Aug 2021).

A 70s influenced video (Silk Sonic influence perhaps? ... as she collaborated on a single with Anderson .Paak last year) has also been released to launch the single. I'm 'feeling' this one, which should do well, although it won't necessarily set the world alight!

India was born in L.A. but now lives in Atlanta, GA. She released her debut album "Origin" in 2012 but had already been writing songs for others for ten years as part of a team of three writers known as Full Circle which included her sister Jazmyn Michel and friend Kesia Hollins.
