India Shawn (aka India Boodram) last appeared on the blog
back in March with a single released on 25 Feb feat. Unknown Mortal
Orchestra "Too Sweet". Her first single since then, excepting a guest appearance on a rap
single from Prince Hakeem, is "Don't Play With My Heart" released yesterday (6 Aug 2021).
A 70s influenced video (Silk Sonic influence perhaps? ... as she collaborated on a single with Anderson .Paak last year) has also been released to launch the single. I'm 'feeling' this one,
which should do well, although it won't necessarily set the world
alight!
India was born in L.A. but now lives in Atlanta, GA. She released her
debut album "Origin" in 2012 but had already been writing songs for others for ten years as
part of a team of three writers known as Full Circle which included her
sister Jazmyn Michel and friend Kesia Hollins.
