Ida Divine [2023] - Maad Serious [Self Released]

Ida Divine (LaQuana Thompson) is an independent artist from Staten Island (NYC) who made a big noise in neo soul circles in 2021 with her single "In§omnia". 

She has released singles on the 23rd of Apr, May and now Jun, all of which have 'Edition .23' on the cover art, so whether it's an EP/album building (i.e. Edition 2023) or just because she's releasing them in the 23rd day of the month we don't know.

Her latest single "Maad Serious" has an island vibe. She last featured here with her Feb '23 single "Wonderful". We've noticed that a music video for it was published in Apr which wasn't available when the song was released/posted so, in the absence of a video for the latest single, have included it below. It's actually much better than we remember it.

Ida Divine [2022] - Science Fiction (Sci-Fi) [Self Released]

Ida Divine (LaQuana Thompson) is an independent artist from Staten Island (NYC) who made a big noise last year in neo soul circles with her single "In§omnia".

She emerged in 2011 and released her debut album "Molecular Legato" in Jan 2013. Her sophomore album "Young Medusa" came last October which SoulStrutter rated quite highly, which curiously didn't include her killer single "In§omnia".

Fast forward to Aug 2022, and the fourth single since "In§omnia", is "Science Fiction (Sci-Fi)" released on 7 Aug.

Ida Divine [2021] - Yung Medusa [Self Released] (Full Album)

New York's Ida Divine last featured here in March with her single "In§omnia" (video included below). Since then she released "Take It" which has a Caribbean vibe and wasn't posted. She emerged in 2011 and released her first full length album "Yung Medusa" on 20 Oct 2021.

It's quite a strong set, with my choice cuts being "Alone", "Here" and "Cherry Soda".
