Terrace Martin & Alex Isley [2023] - Paradise [Sounds of Crenshaw]

Having released his EP "Nova" at the start of September with James Fauntelroy, Terrace Martin collaborates with Alex Isley on a re-imagination of Sade's "Paradise" released on Friday. Ms Isley is certainly in high demand featuring on collaborations with Robert Glasper, her father Ernie, Rory & DRAM already this year.

The song was written by Sade band members and appeared on their "Stronger Than Pride" album. It was released as a single peaking at #29 on UK pop chart in Jun 1988.

It has been released with a 'message' video. We've also included Sade's original music video.

Robert Glasper feat. SiR & Alex Isley [2023] - Back To Love [Loma Vista Recordings]

The new single from Robert Glasper, "Back To Love" feat. SiR & Alex Isley is a ballad featured in the second series of TV sitcom "Run The World" which commenced on 26 May.

Alex Isley is, of course, the daughter of Ernie Isley who is in high demand featuring on numerous artists recordings, as well as her own, in recent years. 

SiR is Sir Darryl Farris from Inglewood, CA, who debuted in 2015 and, coincidentally, covered The Isley's "Footsteps in the Dark Pts. 1 &2" in Nov 2020 to a good reception.

Rory & Shelley FKA DRAM & Alex Isley [2022] - I WANT YOU BUT YOU'LL NEVER KNOW... [Avant Garden]

Alex Isley seems be be highly in demand featuring on several artists recordings of late, Butcher Brown, Tank & The Bangas, Moonchild and Spotify exclusives just to name a few.

She crops up again on this new single "I WANT YOU BUT YOU'LL NEVER KNOW... " by Rory (Farrell) along with FKA DRAM (now known as Shelley (Marshaun) released yesterday (12 Jul 2022). 

Rory is from New York and is formerly of the Joe Budden Podcast and now the co-host of one of the most popular podcasts in the world, New Rory & MAL, with millions of listeners per month. This is his debut release which he has been curating for the last three years.

P.S. I don't know the relevance of the capitalisation of the title? I do wish artists would refrain from this as we never know whether it is intentional or not as sometimes it's that way on the cover but not on the listing and vice versa and it is as confusing as hell! Grammatical conventions are in place for a reason, it's not big and it's not clever 😏 it's just confusing!

Alex Isley [2022] - We Are One [apple exclusive]

Released on 10 Jun 2022 exclusively on Apple for Apple Music’s Freedom Songs 2022 which is an exclusive collection of covers and originals celebrating Juneteenth 2022. 

Juneteenth is a US public holiday celebrating the end of slavery in Texas. It is celebrated annually on 19 June.

Alex Isley chose to cover cover Maze Feat. Frankie Beverly "We Are One". It was posted last week but without a sound file, which has now been added, along with a remastered version of Maze's 1983 original.
