It's two and a half years since we last featured
GeeJay with their single "Mama, It's Ok to Cry" in Sep '21.
They didn't release any music in 2023 but they are back with their second
single of 2024, both this month, following "Stronger Than You Think" (5 Mar) with a reggae tinged "Have A Little Faith" (26 Mar). We'll post both as we didn't seem to get around to posting
the excellent first single even though we passed it on to Steve Aggasild who has been
playing it on his radio for the the last few weeks.
GeeJay is duo, vocalist /songwriter Georgina Tunbridge and producer, saxophonist and keyboardist Jacob Lobo (named after their first name initials) who met whilst both working as baristas in a coffee shop in
Harringay (London). They started jamming on the coffee shops old piano
and soon developed their own sound fusing soul, funk and jazz with urban
hip-hop.
