With three recent singles and three EP's since 2017 now under her belt,
Nottingham's Yazmin Lacey releases her debut album "Voice Notes" tomorrow (3 Mar '23). It will be available digitally as well as on CD
and vinyl from Bandcamp.
Her three EPs are "Black Moon" (2017), "When The Sun Dips 90 Degrees" (2018) and "Morning Matters" (2020) and she made some noise with two singles last year. The first "Pieces" in Sep '22 followed by "Bad Company" in Nov. Both of these along with her more recent single from Jan '23 "Late Night People" are included on the album.
Yazmin Lacey (Yazmin Lacey-Phillips) is originally from east London but moved
to Nottingham. After having a few drinks on a night out she was
persuaded to sing and from that was offered a gig at an acoustic
night.
She later performed at a night organised by Gilles Peterson’s
Brownswood Recordings which earned her a year's-development
programme by the label’s talent discovery scheme. Not long afterwards her debut EP, "BlackMoon", was released in 2017.
