The Degrees [2023] - The Day Out Of Time [FallenTree1 Hundred #FT1HLP004]

Bristol-based soul/trip-hop duo The ('Two') Degrees are Charlie Bierman and Isha Campbell, who debuted in Nov 2021 with "All Said A Done", followed by "Need You" (Mar 2022), "Nothing Else" (Jun 2022) and "No Escape" (Oct 2020), now release their debut album "The Day Out Of Time" today (10 Feb '23) for Goldie's Bristol-based Fallen Tree 1Hundred label. It includes all four singles in addition to another eight new songs.

The album was recorded at Rockfield Studios back in 2020 and delivers 12 tracks, several  with a subtle vintage 90s acid jazz feel and what the label describes as "soul and trip-hop with a distinct Bristolian edge" with two tracks in particular ("Blinded" and "No Escape") being "ghostly-reminiscent of a Massive Attack classic, or string-driven Portishead epic". They also say that "'The Day Out Of Time' aims to provide an authentic ‘artist album listening experience that, if we’re honest, is generally gone in today’s playlist-driven streaming world".

The track that jumps out as the 'most likely' candidate for a the next single is "Cold Feet".

They released their first music video for the last single "No Escape" in Nov (included below).

The duo also release dance material under the name Degrees of Freedom on Fallen Tree 1Hundred 1HX imprint releasing "Time Won't Wait" on (30 Sep 2022).
