A group played and mentioned in the latest DJ Kool Keith podcast was
The Four Mints. I noticed that their sole album "Gently Down The Stream" was reissued in 1997 on CD and then several times afterwards on
various labels, therefore, as it is available digitally and to stream it
is well worth posting.
The Four Mints were a vocal quartet from Columbus, OH, who released
around five singles and one album between 1969-1974 on Capsoul. The
label released just twelve singles and this highly collectable album
(original vinyl copies have sold on Discogs for between £100-£220.) and when
you get your ears around it you will understand why. It contains a
collection of superb vocal group sweet soul harmony songs.
The group hit the R&B charts with two singles in 1973 "Do You Really Love Me" reached the heady heights of #84 and was followed by "You're My Desire" which got to #80, both included on the album. So commercially successful
they were not and disbanded in 1974 which also coincided with the label, run
by WVKO DJ Bill Moss, also folding. Another excellent group bit the
dust and hence their music is quite highly sought after, especially on
the LA. Lowrider scene.

This is an obscure little label that has nevertheless released a few nuggets, including this excellent Sweet Soul album. To be complete you will find 4 unreleased Four Mints on the Eccentric Soul - Capitol City Soul compilation.
