She started out recording in the 90s as Sherree Ford and, presumably
after marrying, became Sherree Ford-Payne and then Sherree Brown (which
was a bit confusing as there is another artist named Sheree Brown) and is
now known as Sherree Patrice (Discogs names her as Sherree Patrice Ford
Payne).
You may be forgiven for perhaps not knowing her name as she has spent
the large part of her career writing and performing background vocals
for many legendary artists including Nancy Wilson, Al Jarreau and
Whitney Houston, a well as touring with Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey to
name just a few of the soul-related ones as well as Celine Dion, Carlos
Santana and CeCe Winans. A quick glance at her discography on her website is mind boggling to see which artists she's
performed and recorded with.
