Sherree Patrice [2022] - Sweet Love [Self Released]

A forthcoming release from Sherree Patrice is a cover of Anita Baker's classic "Sweet Love" from her seminal 1986 "Rapture" album. It is available now to download from the Sherree Patrice website only but no word as to when it will be more widely available.

A video for the song premiered on YouTube yesterday and also posted is Anita Baker's original as Sherree's interpretation is quite different.

Sherree Patrice [2022] - The Heartbrache [Self Released]

The new single from Sherree Patrice "The Heartbrache" will be available on 1 Apr 2022 but you can also buy it now direct from her website. 

She started out recording in the 90s as Sherree Ford and, presumably after marrying, became Sherree Ford-Payne and then Sherree Brown (which was a bit confusing as there is another artist named Sheree Brown) and is now known as Sherree Patrice (Discogs names her as Sherree Patrice Ford Payne). 

You may be forgiven for perhaps not knowing her name as she has spent the large part of her career writing and performing background vocals for many legendary artists including Nancy Wilson, Al Jarreau and Whitney Houston, a well as touring with Chaka Khan and Mariah Carey to name just a few of the soul-related ones as well as Celine Dion, Carlos Santana and CeCe Winans. A quick glance at her discography on her website is mind boggling to see which artists she's performed and recorded with.

Sherree Patrice [2021] - Deep Type [Brown Butterfly Entertainment Group]

The confusing Sherree Patrice who has changed her name several times from Sherre Ford and Sherree Ford-Payne in the 90s to Sherree Brown in the 00s (who gets confused with the other Sheree Brown from LA) and now she is known as Sherree Patrice.

At the end of March I posted two singles she released on 12th and 26th March. She has another new single released 7 May 2021 called 'Deep Type', which I think is the best of the the three.

Sherree Patrice [2021] - Me Time / Tell Me Sumth'N [Brown Butterfly Entertainment Group]

Previously known as Sherree Brown who released an album called 'Fresh Fruit' in 2008, which looks like it was re-issued in 2018 under her new name Sherree Patrice. Before that, in the 90s, she also recorded a self-titled album as Sherree Ford-Payne.

Sherree has spent many years as a support artists for a multitude of music industry heavyweights such as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey and Chaka Khan to name just a few (read her bio on her website link below for a fuller list).

She has released two new singles in March, 'Me Time' on 12 Mar and 'Tell Me Sumth'N' on 26 Mar, both classy soul/jazz tunes.
