It's always nice when one of the first tracks you find in a morning is as
good as this. It doesn't happen very often as I usually have to plough
through lots of dirge before one finally registers.
Helena Day is a new artist from south east London who released her debut single "Drunk On Silence" today (16 Mar 2022).
It's from the jazzy/neo soul school.
She spent several years performing with a soul and gospel choir being
inspired by soul artists of the 60s and 90/00s, and has developed her
own original style of songwriting that is soulful, poetic and
verging on the ethereal.
Stefan Mahendra helped her with production.
