Yesterday I tucked away many of the new vinyl reissues so today I'll
focus on more neo soul release of which there appears to be many
today.
VaNess (Vanessa Mukaremera) is a singer/songwriter from
Toronto of Congolese / Rwandese heritage. She's another whose releases seem to be bundled with others of the same name so trying to decipher what's hers and what's not is tricky, but it seems she emerged in 2018 and has released around seven singles prior to this, her debut, EP.
The four track EP "Conversation" was released on 2 Feb 2022 on which all songs were co-written with Corey Wong. The
title track has already been released as a single in Nov 2020 but the other three tracks are all new.
Like the previous EP posted for Ashley Morgan, all tracks are quite good but apart from "Conversation" already released my pick would be "Meme" which drew me to the EP in the first instance.
