Judi Jackson [2021] - Grace [Silvertone Records] (Full Album)

Another album that eluded me on it's Friday release (29 Oct 2021) that was highlighted by both Roger Williams ("Strawberry Lady") and Paul Regan ("Sunrise"), each again tipping different tracks, is "Grace" from Judi Jackson.

She states on her facebook page that this is her debut album, but she did release a "Live In London" album in 2018 and another "Blame It On My Youth" in 2017, one was live and perhaps the other was a limited self-release?

Judi is originally from Roanoke, Virginia, but now spreads her time between London and New York. She was involved in the writing of all tracks with additional co-writers.

In addition to the two tips above I also enjoyed "Crashing Down" and the 'semi-cover/sampling" of Grover Washington Jr / Bill Withers "The Two Of Us" which features none other than Wolverhampton's Benny Atlas.

The title track "Grace" is reminiscent of Lady Blackbird which you'll probably appreciate if you like the sounds Lady Blackbird makes.

If the fifteen tracks on the album aren't sufficient for you I've also included a 48 minute live performance at The London Jazz Festival from 2020.
