New single from Sugar Rainbow released today (5 Aug 2021)
on a new UK label RainbowFunk. "Game Of Life" looks like her eleventh single going back to 1999 which has been
getting sufficient airplay to feature in this week's UK Soul Chart
Breakers. It has a retro sound (with a phat bassline) which sounds like late 70s/early 80s
to me. In fact, after the recent post of the Ashford & Simpson song,
it reminds me of the material they were releasing late 70s/80s.
The promo came with a bonus track "Loves From Heaven" which features on a five track EP available from RainbowFunk
website.
This one has a jazz feel.
Sugar Rainbow is Dutch born now living in England. She formed a seven
piece UK band Soul Dimensions and is one third of the team behind RainbowFunk with Peter Barnes
and John Thompson.
