A debut release from an artist named MaccLaShawnn. His album "One More Chance" was released on 28 Jul 2021. I can find absolutely nothing about the
artist.
There are three tracks of main interest, the title track "One More Chance", "Let The Beat Bump Bump Bump" and "Don't Fail Me Now".

Lady Blackbird (aka Marley Monroe from L.A.) released her debut
single on 27 May 2020. It was a cover of Nina Simone's 1963 song "Blackbird". Since then there have been several remixes and she has released three
further singles, two of which have also had remixes applied.
Her latest single "It's Not That Easy" was released on 16 Jul 2021, however all her singles have been packaged
on Spotify into a four track collection, suggesting perhaps she is building up an album so, rather than just posting the latest single, I thought I'd
post them all as she is attracting a lot of attention and receiving
accolades for her performances.
Her first three singles ("Blackbird", "Beware The Stranger", "Collage") are available as a bundle 'The Singles"
Whilst I accept that Lady Blackbird will not be to everyone's taste, she is
certainly a raw and different talent. Her website's strap line is 'Black
Acid Soul' and that probably sums her up as she is quite dark. She's not for
the faint or light hearted as she grabs you by the throat from the start and
demands that you listen! This is jazz, bordering rock, but what a voice this
singer has! If you're open minded and appreciate all types of black
music, then you will probably appreciate this emerging talent.
She will be performing in the UK in August making two appearances at We Are
Out Here festival Abbotts Ripton (near Huntingdon) on 19 Aug and at the Red
Rooster festival Euston Hall (near Thetford) 27 Aug.

Bonus - an unreleased track "Angel Dream" (a bit folky!)
NW London singer Sharna Bass has featured on the blog a couple of times previously with her last two singles "Memories Don't Die" (17 Jun) and "Never Coming Back" (3 May).
Her latest single "Emma's Exit" was released yesterday (30 Jul 2021)
which is a jazz flava'd neo soul tune.

Possibly one of the most hyped albums of the year is
Prince's "Welcome 2 America" which has been 'teased' for months with three singles being trickled
from it over the last few months. I'm not one of Princes admirers so
wasn't quick to post it on release yesterday before digesting the
tracks. From a purely soul perspective there is very little of interest,
for me, on the album as I find a lot of his material pop, funk and rock. The best track has
already been posted "Born 2 Die" as it was the second single released on 3 Jun after the title track
on 9 Apr. The most recent single was "Hot Summer" let out last week (23 Jul).
The best tracks are the aforementioned title track, "Born 2 Die", "When She Comes" is quite a good ballad and the funk track "Same Page, Different Book", if I were stretching it "Running Game (Son Of A Slave Master)" isn't a bad track, but the others on the album leave me cold, but I'm
sure Prince's legion of fans will lap this up ... they already have, as ten of
the twelve tracks are already all over the Amazon chart, only "Born 2 Die" and "Welcome 2 America" aren't in the top 30
at time of writing, probably because they have already been released as
singles.
I won't let my own prejudice influence you, he was undoubtedly a unique talent but, for me, he's just not very soulful, so here's the full album.
Newcastle's Beth Macari follows up her recent dance hit "Gotta Get You Back" (which reached #5 on UK Soul Charts and later received a set
of three remixes) with a beautiful, soulful jazz flava'd, sultry ballad "Love You More". Her voice is exquisite on this song which she wrote with Ronan
Lafferty.
The new single, along with a set of remixes (our man Nigel Lowis on duty
one more time!), was released yesterday (30 Jul 2021). BandCamp has an
exclusive for the extended version of the single, so I've embedded from
there rather than Spotify.
Beth will be performing across the UK this summer which includes a
headline show at Hoochie Coochie (her home town's top soul venue) as
well as The Bedford in London. She will also be supporting 2008 X
Factor winner Alexandra Burke in September.
NB SoulStrutter posted the single exclusively prior to release but
those sound files will now be removed from the two previous
posts.

Emmavie Mbongo from Harrow, London released her third album
"What's A Diamond To A Baby" yesterday (30 Jul 2021). Within the seven tracks it includes her two
latest singles "Tune" and "Uh Huh Okay". Of the remaining tracks "2003" is the one that's been getting most attention, but the track I like
best is "Be Mine" ... until the rap kicks in!.
