Victor Haynes [2024] - Like The Old Days (Remix) [Expansion Records]

The same day as his new album release, Expansion Records has released a remix of Victor Haynes' last single "Like The Old Days".

We can't, hand on heart, say that we can tell any immediate difference as they have the same key and tempo and only the duration seems to differ with the remix being 3:51 v 4:09, but I guess if we were to forensically examine both then there must be some difference?

We'll post post and you can decide.

Victor Haynes [2024] - Dreams [Expansion Records] (FullAlbum)

The second release from Expansion Records today is the highly anticipated album, "Dreams", from Manchester's Victor Haynes after two very well received recent singles "Let The Lovin' Start" (8 Mar) and "Like The Old Days" (26 Apr). As an added bonus they have also released a remix of "Like The Old Days" as a single (i.e. not on the album).

It's a solid set kicking off with the title track, "Dreams", and "We've Got Love" setting the scene followed by the two singles and continuing with another 'hot stepper', "Got My Mind Made Up".

The pace slows down for a ballad "A World Without You" and then picks up again with "Moving On", "Gonna Be Right There" and "You're My Girl" which is bit more mid pace. The album closes with a ballad "Blowing My Mind".

All songs are written by Victor with long time partner Peter May. It's his seventh album for Expansion Records in a relationship now in it's 30th year, (his first for the label being "Optimistic" in 1994) and follows "Love Is The Answer" in Dec '22.

Victor Haynes [2022] - Love Is The Answer [Expansion] (Full Album) OUT TODAY

The title track of Victor Haynes' forthcoming album "Love Is The Answer" was posted last week and we had the privilege of receiving the full album in advance of release and gave you a preview of it on Monday. It is out today (2 Dec '22) on all digital platforms.

Victor released the first single from the album "Back To Love" on 7 Oct and followed it on 18 Nov with two mixes of "Newsflash".

Victor Haynes is one of the most respected names in UK soul music whose career has now spanned four decades releasing his first album in 1994. His smooth and sophisticated vocal style merges soul and jazz classics with original compositions. He started his professional singing career after giving up his business designing and making jewellery and moved to London working with artists such as Jaki Graham, David Grant, Heatwave’s Derek Bramble and Rod Temperton. His versatility made him a first call when artists like Edwin Starr, The Drifters, Curtis Mayfield, The Temptations, The Real Thing and The Crusaders needed support for their UK shows.

After moving back to his native Manchester he entered a songwriting and recording partnership with producer, arranger, keyboard player Pete May and began to attract attention, radio airplay and a recording deal.

His latest album will be his fifth, and fourth for Expansion Records, and follows the well received "Can We Talk" from Sep 2021.
