TMF [2024] - The Music Forever, Vol. 1 [Self Released] (Full Album)

Last week we received and posted a promo for the new single from TMF, "Let Me Love You", and alluded to it being from their debut album due later this year. What we didn't quite realise was that the album was imminent and has been released today (15 Mar) (although at time of writing seems to be only available from iTunes and not Amazon).

It consists of nine tracks which obviously includes their first two singles, "Making Love To The Music" from Oct '23 and "Let Me Love You" (Mar '23), although the latter doesn't appear to be available as an official single on DSPs as yet.

In addition to the tracks released as singles, we'd highlight "New Again", "I'll Never Let You Go" and "Choices" as perhaps the new songs likely to gain most attention but, as we expected it would be, it's a solid set throughout with something for everyone.

As you will know by now, the group consists of former members of Maze along with Chris Walker who takes the lead vocals (and also song writing credits on six of the songs). They have been mainly performing live shows up until now.

If you wish to learn more then check out Steve Aggasild's Zoom interview with all band members just after they released their first single..

TMF The Music Forever [2024] - Let Me Love You [Self Released] PROMO

Former Maze members (Roame Lowry (conga/vocals), John 'Jubu' Smith (guitar/vocals), Vance Taylor (keys),  Bear Williams (bass/vocals), Calvin Napper (drums), Daniel Weatherspoon (keys & organ) and also Chris Walker (lead vocals)) are back with their second single as TMF The Music Forever.

We have not been given a release date for "Let Me Love You" but it has been serviced to radio stations for airplay now, so look out for it in the not too distant future.

We had the privilege of conducting a Zoom interview with the whole group shortly after the release of their first single "Making Love To The Music" in Oct '23. You can catch up with the interview by Steve Aggasild HERE.

During the interview they alluded to be working on an album for release this year and, going by their first two singles, it's shaping up to be another great album to enjoy this year.

After 60+ years in the business, Frankie Beverly, now 77, announced his retirement last month with a farewell tour commencing in Atlanta, GA, on 22 Mar featuring Chaka Khan and El Debarge on the opening night. Another five dates have so far been announced with further dates to be added. Let's hope there are some dates on this side of the pond where his music has been truly appreciated, initially by the Northern Soul scene and then the soul weekender crowd in the late 70s/80s.

TMF The Music Forever [2023] - Making Love to the Music [Self Released]

If the sound of TMF The Music Forever sounds familiar it's because they are a seven piece group made up of former members of Maze. The line up is Chris Walker (lead vocals), Roame Lowry (conga/vocals), John 'Jubu' Smith (guitar/vocals), Vance Taylor (keys),  Bear Williams (bass/vocals), Calvin Napper (drums),  and Daniel Weatherspoon (keys & organ).

They are mainly a live act but have released a debut single "Making Love to the Music" written by Chris Walker and if this is the sort of stuff we are to expect from them then bring it on. Magical, timeless, smooth soul music of the finest quality.

Below is a 45 minute interview with  all band members.
