Silk Sonic [2022] - Love's Train [Aftermath Entertainment]

Just played this morning by Gary Van Den Bussche's on his daily Starpoint Radio lunchtime show is the new single from Silk Sonic which slipped out without the usual 'fanfare' (nor a 'proper' video for it) yesterday (14 Feb 2022).

It's a cover of Con Funk Shun's "Loves Train" from "To The Max" 1982 written by Michael Cooper and Felton Pilate.

I've included a video of Con Funk Shun performing the song on Soul Train with Michael Cooper on lead vocals (the sound quality is low so have also included audio from Spotify).

DJ Soulchild (Denny Sutton) has just done a remix of Silk Sonic's last single "Smokin Out The Window" and blended it with Rick James 1978 single "Mary Jane" which gives it more of a funky bounce. It's only available from his website.

Silk Sonic [2021] - Fly As Me (LIVE BET Soul Train Awards 2021)

I came across this video which features "Fly As Me" one of the two funky tracks from "An Evening With Silk Sonic" album. It's a live performance at the annual BET Soul Train Awards held on 20 Nov 2021 which has been running since 1987. Silk Sonic won song of the year and video of the year for "Leave The Door Open". They were also awarded The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter's Award for the song.

Silk Sonic [2021] - An Evening With Silk Sonic [Aftermath Entertainment] (Full Album)

The long 'hyped' album from the Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak collaboration Silk Sonic "An Evening With Silk Sonic" is finally released tomorrow (12 Nov 2021).

As you will be aware three singles have already been released, all of which have attracted a ridiculous and phenomenal number of views for their videos. The latest one "Smokin' Out The Window" released last week (5 Nov) already has 24m, "Skate" (30 Jul) almost 65m and "Leave The Door Open" (5 Mar) close to 430m.

Silk Sonic [2021] - Smokin' Out The Window [Aftermath Entertainment]

The full Silk Sonic album "An Evening with Silk Sonic" is  due next Friday (12 Nov 2021) and today (5 Nov) the latest (third) single from it was released "Smokin' Out The Window", which sounds like another smash hit.

More 70s style smooth soul with a cool 70s male group style video (think Four Tops, Temptations, Delfonics, Dramatics, Chi-Lites, Stylistics etc.) to promote it. At the time of posting 08:00 GMT it has been uploaded for 4 hours with half a million views already!

Before our friends at SoulTracks get in ... It's a  'world premiere'😉

UPDATE 6 Nov 17:00 GMT barely 18 hours since video release it now just shy of 6m views! (5,815,602)
