Originally released digitally in Dec. last year on a compilation "The Mike Maurro Remix Vault" (consisting of Maurros remixes of 17 classic dance songs) was one
for Michael Wycoff's modern soul gem "Looking Up To You".
It is now getting pressed on 12" vinyl along with the original 1982 album
version from "Love Conquers All". It will be available on 7 Jun but can
be pre-ordered now from vinyl dealers.
The song, written by Leon Ware and Zane Hanks (Grey & Hanks) and
produced by Webster Lewis, has been sampled multiple times, first by
Dodge City Productions "Ain't Going for That" in 1991 but most famously by
Zhane on "Hey Mr DJ" in 1993.
Wycoff sang backing vocals on Stevie Wonder's "Songs In The Key Of Life" (as well as for Natalie Cole, DJ Rogers, Gwen McCrae and others and played keyboards on Bobby Womack's The Poet II). He embarked on a solo career in the late 70s releasing three albums for RCA Victor in the early 80s. Sadly, he succumbed to alcohol and drug addiction which terminated his music career and he later found faith and became a minister. He died from pancreatic cancer in March 2019 aged 63.

Frank Dell (Franklin Delano Murphy) aka Big Frank Murphy had a huge Northern Soul record (He Broke Your Game Wide Open) played back in the day and later in the 80s another was discovered by Big Frank & The Essences - I Won't Let Her See Me Cry. He formed Valise records with Phil Medley and continued recording through 80s and 90s releasing 4 albums, his first one 'Yesterday's People' on the notorious 'tax scam' Guinness label. Up until his death in July 2015 aged 75, he was still active in New York and performed in UK at 6Ts Cleethorpes soul weekender in 2008.

After graduating from university in South Carolina in 1963 he moved to New York and worked as a youth counsellor. In the late 70s he became a narcotics parole officer until he retired in 1996. So it would appear that his work in the music industry was not full-time.

I don't think this was ever released as can't find any reference to it and if you look carefully at label scan it's been mocked up as text is darker in places. I believe that the sound file was originaly posted on FrankDell.com by Frank himself which no longer exists.
