Will Downing & Maysa UK Dates Oct 2023

Will Downing along with guest Maysa will be performing two dates (so far) in the UK in October 2023. Kicking off at O2 Forum, Kentish Town, London, on 23 Oct and then at Manchester's Band On The Wall the following evening 24 Oct.

Doors open at 19:00 and tickets can be found at Tickemaster (other ticket sites are available).

Maysa [2023] - Music For Your Soul [Blue Velvet Soul Records] (Full Album)

Teasers for the latest, and 14th, album from Maysa were posted in the last week of March. The album was released on 31 Mar. It is already topping the UK Soul Chart for the second week (debuting at #1 on  10 Apr) with three tracks sent out on promo by DSG.

With 15 new tracks for DJs to choose from in addition to the four already released as singles, no doubt it will be there for a number of weeks yet.

In addition to the tracks highlighted when samples were posted (i.e. "You Know How To Love Me", "Runnin from Myself", "His Love" (feat. the ubiquitous Frank McComb), "I Wanna Believe", "Down With Me" (feat. Chris Walker)  and "Beautiful") the title track "Music For Your Soul" and "Time Can Heal (A Broken Heart)" should be added to the list of front runners of new material.

Maysa [2023] - Music For Your Soul [Blue Velvet Soul] (Album Samples)

Baltimore's Maysa Leak has been in the music business since 1991 staring out singing in Stevie Wonder's backing group Wonderlove then joining Incognito around 1992 who she has sung with continuously off an on.

Her eponymous debut solo album arrived in 1995 and she is about to release her 14th solo studio album "Music For The Soul" on 31 Mar 2023.

The album contains 19 tracks and we have received album samples from DSG ahead of its release on Friday and have been given approval to post samples to give you a taste of what's to come. Four tracks have already been released as singles i.e. "Just Say", "Make Sure, You're Sure", "Whatever" and her last "I Don't Mind" so are posted in full from Spotify.

I think the new tracks 'most likely' to get most attention are the up-tempo ones which include a remake of Phyllis Hyman's, Mtume & Lucus penned,  anthem "You Know How To Love Me", "Runnin from Myself", "His Love" (feat. the ubiquitous Frank McComb) and "I Wanna Believe", "Down With Me" (feat. Chris Walker)  along with "Beautiful" which is reminiscent of recent Hil St. Soul material whose album topped the UK soul charts for several weeks.

Maysa [2023] - I Don't Mind [Blue Velvet Soul Records]

The first posted new release of 2023 is the final single from Maysa prior to the release of her fourteenth solo album "Music For Your Soul" due in March 2023.

The single "I Don't Mind" is co-written with her musical director Damon Bennett and Incognito's Bluey (Jean-Paul Maunick).
