Jacob G. [2024] - In Love With You [Round 2 Music]

Jacob G. has featured here several times over the last few years and has a new single, an old school lowrider, titled "In Love With You" which was released two weeks ago on 12 Jan. 

The song was written by John Gary Williams (who was a member of The Mad Lads) who recorded it as the flip side to his debut solo single (a cover of George Harrison's "My Sweet Lord") on Stax in 1972. Williams released only three solo singles and an album, His second single is sought after not only the A side "The Whole Damn World Is Going Crazy" but also for another cover of Four Tops "Ask The Lonely" (originally recorded, but not released until long after, by co-writer (with Mickey Stevenson)  Ivy Jo Hunter).

As you may know Jacob G. is the son on Chicano singer William Garcia aka Little Willie G. who sang with Thee Midniters and Los Lobos.

Jacob G. [2022] - Kisses [Soulful Seed]

Following the Zoom Law post, this is another that I'd classify as soulful R&B. It's the new single from Jacob G. "Kisses" released on 15 Feb 2022. 

I'm not able to find it on Amazon UK nor Amazon Music UK so presume that it hasn't been released on Amazon UK. Perhaps it's another streaming only release which, If that's the case, then unless loads of promos are sent to DJ's, I don't quite see how this will receive airplay.

UPDATE: It is available on Amazon US

Jacob G. [2021] - Villa [Soulful Seed] (Full Album)

Jacob G. is the son of Little Willie G. (Garcia) who is a well known figure on the lowrider scene as he was a member of legendary East L.A. group Thee Midniters.

He released his debut album "Villa" on 19 Nov 2021. I'm afraid, for me, there is nothing near to the standard of his last single "Never Late" which is not included on the album, so it's a bit disappointing.

Jacob G. [2021] - Never Late [Kram Pro Music Group]

I posted a double-sided release by Jacob G. in April which were both covers of lowrider classics. His latest single 'Never Late' was released 10 May 2021 and played as one of the Global Soul Essential 5 last night in the chart show.  It is a departure from the sweet soul classics he put out last time and is a contemporary tune, but with a bit of old school.
