Adesha & Vincent Kwok [2023] - Feeling You [The Sleepers Recordz]

Adesha (Johnson) is from Oakland, CA. After opening for several big artists (e.g. Ledisi, Anthony David, Carl Thomas & Jazmine Sullivan) she is progressing her own career. 

Vincent Kwok is a DJ/producer originally from Perth, Australia who moved to San Francisco  in the 90s.

The pair have been collaborating for a few years releasing several singles together with many of them ("Hot Mess" (sounding a bit like a mix of  Gwen McCrae "Keep The Fire Burning / Kleeer "Keep Your Body Working") , "Girl Fan", "Are You Satisfied With My Love", "Life's Too Short" / "Blame Game") , included on their first album together "Feeling You". It's Adesha's second album having released 'Giving Love A Try' released in 2014.

Adesha first came to our attention featuring with DJ AK  with her single "Crush" in May '21. Her music has a throwback 80s feel.

Our choice cut from the new material is "Retribution".

Adesha & Vincent Kwok [2023] - Are You Gonna Love [Eight-Fifteen]

Ever since her single "Crush" in May '21 (which was a collaboration with DJ AK from France) , Adesha has teamed up with Vincent Kwok, for two, and now a third, single. All tend to have a bit of an 80s feel.

The latest single is "Are You Gonna Love" released on 17 Feb '23.

Adesha & Vincent Kwok [2021] - Life's Too Short / Blame Game [The Sleepers Recordz]

Adesha featured here back in May with a great 80s throwback tune "Crush". Her latest release (10 Sep 2021) is in a similar vein with two sides featuring Vincent Kwok "Life's Too Short" and "Blame Game". These two sides are available on very limited edition (150) pink vinyl 45s via BandCamp.

She also slipped out another two-sider on 2 Sep 2021 "Satisfied With My Love" and "The Secret" (the latter has got a bit of a vibe like Sister Sledge "I'm The Greatest Dancer" towards the end).

Her sound transports you back to the early 80s and sounds like the material Evelyn King and Melba Moore were recording at the time, so if that's your thing you will love these tracks, also check out "Crush" if you haven't heard it which, after listening again, is very similar to Evelyn King's "I'm In Love"!
