In 2021 Roderick Harper released his fifth album, "Back To Love", and followed it last year with "2702". HIs next album will be "Back To Love Vol.2: Journey To Love" (due later this year) from which he will release the lead single "Love Is In The Air" on 31 May, and a very strong single it is!
Harper is from Washington
D.C. and studied music at Southern University in Baton Rouge, being
taught by Alvin Batiste. Whilst at university he secured a gig as vocalist for Ellis Marsalis, who he performed with for several years.
His voice can be heard on HBO 'Soul of the Game', the BET
BlacKout and UMC series, 'Terror Lake Drive', and as a featured
vocalist on Kent Jordan’s 2004 album "Out of this World" as well
as commercials such as Folgers Coffee and McDonalds.
His first album was titled "Beautiful Beginnings" released in 2000 followed by "The Essence of..." (2004), "Perfect Imperfections" (2018), "Evolving" (2020), "Back To Love" (2021) and "2702" (2023).
