Mavis SWAN Poole is a classically trained music teacher and vocal coach from Durham, NC,
who has performed with many big name artists including Gladys Knight,
Mavis Staples, Lauryn Hill and Shirley Caesar to name but a few.
She was a member of Soul Understated who released a couple of albums "On the Shoulders of Giants (Side A)" (2014) and "Songs In The Key Of Grease" (2017) but she also released a solo album "Soul Tree (Sultry)" in 2009.
We have featured her last two singles "How Do We Grow" (May '23) and "The Assignment" (Oct '22) which was our SoulStrutter Selection of the Week that
week. Her latest single is "Every Man Aint the Same" released on 22 Jan.
At the time of posting "The Assignment" she was working on a new EP "Adult Time: Vol. 1", which has yet to materialise, but if these three singles are an example
of what to expect then it will be essential listening.
