Grooveman Spot (aka DJ Kou-G) is Tokyo-based DJ/producer Kouji Asano originally
from Sendai. He began his DJ career in 1993, started releasing his own music in 2006
and now has over a dozen albums to his own name as well as being a member of many other groups.
The latest album "Lie-Sense", released today (31 Jul), is full of
contemporary and retro beats, some songs sung in Japanese and some in
English, and several with jazzy muted horns, but all have a groove if you're not hung up on vocals.
On our first trawl through the immediate highlights are "The Luxury" (which features the vocals of Hannah Springs), "Get It Back", "Hold My Hands", "All The Way" and "Slow Wine".
