Sharnette Hyter from Dallas, TX, is a woman of many talents:
hairdresser, poet, actor, singer and business owner. She began her music
career in the early 90s in a 3-girl group DeJaVu, in a duo Guilty (1996)
and then went solo under the moniker Jayla Jewel (1997) named after her daughter Jayla.
She stopped recording between 1998-2009 and began again using her real
name and released a mini album "Just Shar" consisting of eight tracks
which was later extended to 12 tracks and retitled "Southern Soul Party
Every Night". In 2010 she released a gospel album "Keep The Faith"
followed a couple of months later by a jazz album "Shar Jazz" consisting
of eleven well known jazz standards. Her next album "Grown Folks Talkin'" arrived in 2016 which contained a nice cover of "Going In Circles".
She released her second single of 2023, "Reality Begins", on 20 Jun which is best described as a southern soul style ballad/stepper with
lush harmonies.
