MAETA [2023] - When I Hear Your Name [Roc Nation Records] (Full Album)

We first came across MAETA only a couple of weeks ago via her single "Through The Night" which we fell in love with and made it our SoulStrutter Selection of the Week. It would seem others didn't share our love for it as we don't see it getting a lot of airplay!

We hadn't realised that it was from a forthcoming debut full length album "When I Hear Your Name" which has been released today. So, when we loaded it up expectations, based on the last single, were high but we have to say that, from a soul perspective, we are left rather disappointed as it is predominantly pop/R&B/urban oriented. We had hoped that there may be another soulful track similar to the single to feast on, but sadly not. However, it's not about 'us' and post it for your consideration and it's worth another post for the exceptional "Through The Night" in case you missed it.

Maeta Hall hails from Indianapolis (but is now based in L.A.) and gained attention via posting clips on Soundcloud and Instagram. After a few singles, she released a debut EP "Do Not Disturb" in Nov 2019 and has now released a further three EPs along with around eighteen singles.
