At the beginning of April Narada Michael Walden
released an EP of six mixes of "Baby Let's Go" which were more oriented towards the clubs and contained rap. Upon the advice of Expansions Ralph Tee, yesterday he released a
Soul Version with no rap with the aim of appealing to soul
listeners.
The song is a new collaboration between Narada Michael Walden and Italian musician/producer Lino Nicolosi and his team (Pino Nicolosi, Rossana Nicolosi and Dora Nicolosi) who have written and produced for artists such as Chaka Khan, Eumir Deodato (Expansions released "The Crossing" album in 2010 hence the Ralph Tee connection), Al Jarreau, Billy Preston, Stanley Jordan, Sting, Gino Vannelli and also played on recordings with Carlos Santana, George Duke, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Brian Auger, Buddy Miles and many more.
Narada Michael Walden is a 71 year singer/songwriter/musician (drummer)/producer who rose to
prominence in the late 70s with a disco hit "I Don't Want Nobody Else (To
Dance with You)" in 1979 followed by "I Shoulda Loved Ya" in 1980. They were his only sorties into the higher echelons of the R&B chart and
his only two entries on the Hot 100 although he did have several other hits in the UK in the mid/late 80s and a Top 10 pop hit in 1988 with
"Divine Emotions".
He moved into production and has produced heavy weight artists such
as Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, The Temptations, Aretha Franklin, Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle, Natlie Cole, George Benson, Al Green, Ray Charles, Lionel Richie, Al Jarreau, Sister Sledge, Pointer Sisters, Regina Belle, Angela Bofill, and many others. He has won three Grammy's from eight nominations, one for Aretha's "Freeway of Love" and another for "The Bodyguard" soundtrack with Whitney Houston.
You may recall that he duetted with Cornell C.C. Carter in 2016 on a
cover of The Delfonics' "La La Means I Love You" on "C.C. In The
Moment"
