After an Easter vacation and feeling decidedly 'under the weather'
upon return with a 25C change in temperature, in the words of Jean Carn, "We
Got Some Catchin' Up To Do"! We'll start off by pulling together albums and EPs released over the last 3 weeks.
Gene Moore gave us one of the first killer cuts of 2023 on 20 Jan with
his duet with India.Arie "Beautiful" and followed it with a single "Alright" at the end of March. Both are included on an new six track EP "Introspection" released last Friday (14 Apr '23).
"Beautiful" is hard to follow but both "I Believe" and "Thanks" (feat. Oswin Benjamin & Red Hands ) are worthy contenders. "Thanks"
is in fact a remix of a track released by Ohio gospel group Red Hands from
"The Family Album" (Nov '22) (included below for comparison) on which Moore featured with
Houston-based singer/pianist Kim Burrell.
