Kevin Oxberry [2023-02-03] - The Friday Night Rotation [Starpoint Radio]

We're having a bit of a reshuffle of radio show podcasts as there have been several changes over recent weeks. Roger Williams is back on air on Sunday evenings in his old time slot 10-12 after a year's sabbatical. DJ Kool Keith's Sunday Soulful Vibes show has been moved to a new time slot from Sundays to Tuesdays and Steve Aggasild has moved from Soul Groove Radio and will now be presenting three shows per week, two on SOTAR (State Of The Art Radio) on Wednesdays and Sundays and one for brand new station Soul Music Radio on Friday night.

A new entrant into our radio show podcasts is Kevin Oxberry whose The Friday Night Rotation show goes out every Friday on Starpoint Radio between 7pm -9pm GMT.

As long as presenters submit their playlists in time the weekly schedule will be:
Mon: Roger Williams - Soulsorts Sunday Soul Collection
Tue: Steve Aggasild - SoulAndJazzFlavas (SOTAR)
Wed: DJ Kool Keith - Soulful Vibes
Thu: Steve Aggasild - SoulAndJazzFlavas (SOTAR)
Fri/Sat: Steve Aggasild - Soul Struttin'
Sat/Sun: Kevin Oxberry - The Friday Night Rotation
Sun: DJ Kool Keith - Soulful Slow Jams

Kevin Oxberry

Kevin was introduced to soul music from the mid to late 60's thanks to playing his late cousin's Motown records. He has been a collector of soul, gospel, jazz and soulful RnB for over 45 years getting a start in DJing in 1978 helping out on one or two roadshows.
He was/is an avid follower of soul radio, listening and learning from the likes of Robbie Vincent, Greg Edwards, Jeff Young, Norman Jay, Colin Curtis, Pete Tong, Bob Jones, Steve Walsh, Gary Dennis, Terry Jones, Paul Collins, Paul Thrower, Paul Goldsmith and Roger Williams.

Oxo got his break into radio in 2009 with Starpoint Radio, initially assisting Bob Smith on Digging The Crates. This led to presenting his own weekly show, 'The Friday Night Rotation', on the station and he is also now one of the presenters on monthly rotation of the 'Wind Down Zone' on Wednesday evenings. He's DJ'd at various events including VyBE, Hustle, Luxury Soul Weekender and North Lancs Soul Festival.

The Friday Night Rotation is broacast each Friday between 19:00-21:00 GMT on Starpoint Radio. The format of Kev's two hour shows is that the in the first hour and last half hour he plays upfront new releases and sandwiched in between for the first half hour of the second hour he digs out some oldies.

Catch up with previous shows on Podomatic.
