Lavel 'Memphis' Jackson picked up his nickname Memphis after
performing in a club in Chicago when after the show someone told him
"You sound like the singers I hear Memphis" and called him "Memphis" and it stuck.
Jackson is a singer, songwriter and producer who has been in the music
business over thirty years and has been influenced by the greats such as Ron
Isley, Curtis Mayfield and Al Green.
His material has been heard on nationally syndicated television shows and
on many albums.
He is currently touring with The Dramatics featuring LJ Reynolds and also
performs shows with The Temptations Review featuring Bernard
Gibson.
A track "Just Us 2" from his new six track EP "Playa In Love" was posted last week from promo and has been topping the most viewed posts for the last seven days. The full EP is released today.
