I.KHAN is Indira Milini Khan and you would correct in
assuming that she is related to the legendary Chaka Khan as she is her
daughter. Chaka was born Yvette Marie Stevens and got her surname
from her marriage, aged 17, to Hassan Khan in 1970 but Indira was born out
of relationship with Rahsaan Morris after her divorce to Khan.
Indira was signed to Motown in the 90s as a member of a girl group
Pretty In Pink, whilst still in her teens, who released just one album, "Wake Up", and two singles in 1991.
After that she worked with Miki Howard, Johnny Gill, Shabba Ranks, Yvette Michelle, Paula Abdul and of course her mother. In 2016 she featured in "Love Under New Management: The Miki Howard Story" a biopic about Miki Howard's life where Indira portrayed her mother.
She has been recording solo as I.KHAN since 2020 and has released her
second single of 2022 on Friday titled "Love Ship".
