I had the pleasure of seeing Acantha Lang perform
supporting Mica Millar at her album launch party in September and both
were excellent live.
Acantha has a new single "Carry The Weight" out today (2 Nov 2022). It's straight outta Memphis with southern style organ and horns. I don't think it will be long before we see
her debut album as she hinted at it in her performance.
The lady is originally from New Orleans and moved to New York to headline
her own blues show at the Grill in in Harlem before moving to London after three years there.
She released her debut single "He Said / She Said" in October 2020 and to date this is her sixth single along with a five
track EP "Sugar Woman". All except the first single have been posted here since coming across
her second single "Lois Lang".
In addition to her recorded material she is regularly posting live videos
of cover songs which she calls "Standing On The Shoulder of ...Soul Legends" on her YouTube channel (which she started during Covid lockdown and has continued) and performing live. It is only a matter of time before she becomes a big name.
