Four years into her career, Detroit's Sara Marie Barron, having released a dozen singles and two full albums ("Sad, But True" (2018) and "Existential Glam" (2020)), released her first EP "Angel Numbers" on 19 Aug 2022.
The EP includes two new songs and her last single "Three Hours" (5 Aug) and a single from April "Subdued" . It kicks off with a dance oriented track "Subdued", settles into a nice neo soul tune "Choose Between" followed by a ballad "Three Hours" and closes with another neo number "Shiver".
Sara states that she "aspires to bridge the grace and gusto of 60's soul
(Etta James, Nina Simone), and the exuberance and panache of Motown's icons
up to contemporary influences from the indulgent (even fun) melodrama and
winsome swagger of 90's pop stars (Britney, Christina) and recent
R&B/neo-soul dynamos (Alicia Keys and Amy Winehouse,
particularly)".
