The Candace Love song "Never In A Million Years" has featured here previously as there are several versions of it. The backing track was put out as the flip to Jack Montgomery's "Don't Turn Your Back On Me" on Barracuda (owned by Don Mancha & Don Montgomery) in 1967. The vocals were added and the track was recorded and released by The Honey Bees on Garrison credited to Fred Bridges (Bridges Knight & Eaton aka Brothers of Soul) and Richard Beasley. The Candace Love version is a much slowed down version of the same song (perhaps with a different melody but the lyrics are the same) credited to Robert Eaton's pseudonym Beanium Black and Davis used for his publishing on some of the songs that he didn't want published under Zodiac Records
Love was as a schoolteacher from Chicago who released five singles on Zodiac owner Ric Wiliams' Aquarius label. She had previously recorded a single in 1967 as Amanda Love on local Chicago label Starville (later released on Chess) and later in 1971 as Woman on Shock (another Williams label).
Lou Ragland's "I Didn't Mean To Leave You" is the superb deep soul flip side to his belated modern soul biggie "Since You Said You'd Be Mine" on Warner Bros. from 1973. A greta double-sider which is appreciating in value.
Con Funk Shun "Make It Last" was posted a couple of weeks ago from their 1978 "Loveshine" album.
