Melani Boykin appears to be a new artist having released
two singles this year, "Pressure Baby" (Feb ) and "Roll and Rock" (Apr) which are both included on her debut EP/album "From My Soul" released 25 Oct.
As regular readers will know I'm not a great fan of some of the new
southern soul as it all sounds the same and synthesised to me but there
are some pretty decent tracks on this album. In fact all of them except
I'm not keen on "Roll and Rock" but "Day Dreamin'", "Pity The Fool" and "Stay" would be my choice cuts and "Pressure Baby" is not too shabby (as they say).
Melani is originally from New Haven, CT now living in Independence,
LA.
