I don't quite know how we missed "Let It Rain" when released as a single back in
April (well, thinking about it, I do as I was on vacation that week as it was my birthday!), but a video for it was published on Monday as a promo
for Leven Kali's forthcoming EP of the same name due on 28 Oct
2022.
Leven Kali is a singer/songwriter/producer born in Holland to a
musical family and raised in Santa Monica, CA. He made a name for himself
with some high-profile collaborations, including features on tracks by
Drake in 2017.
Since 2016 he's released approx. a dozen singles and two albums. He featured here last month on a single "Irreversible" with Biako and Van Hunt.
He also co-wrote and co-produced several songs on Beyonce's latest album "RENNAISANCE" (the best two tracks "PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA" and "VIRGO'S GROOVE" along with "SUMER RENNAISANCE").
As an aside I don't quite understand why "PLASTIC OFF THE SOFA" or "VIRGO'S GROOVE" haven't had much more exposure on the UK soul scene. That, of course, IS a rhetorical statement, as it's blatantly because of who she is i.e. a mainstream artist, so is perversely ignored by many!
