A bit of a surprise hit this time last year was an album of unreleased
material written in the early 2000s "Honey Coated Hip-Hop" by Em-Cee (aka Miss Cherokee aka Clarissa Walters from
London). The song "Fly Away" featured on a special edition available on CD only.
A couple of new mixes of "Fly Away" appeared credited to US in Jan this year and this five tracker
features another two new mixes. The confusing thing is, although they
all have the title "Fly Away" with various mixes that all sound like
completely different songs based on samples e.g. Linslee Power Bounce
Mix uses Keni Burke "Risin' To The Top". Linslee's Notorious Mix, The
Notorious B.I.G. "Juicy" (which of course is based on Mtume's Juicy Fruit) and Linslee's 80s Remix I 'think' may be Imagination's "Music & Lights", if not certainly an early/mid 80s track perhaps "Invitations" by Shakatak? or even a bit of both ... answers on a postcard.
