Following the post for the latest single "New To You" pre-released from the album the other day, the full album from Calvin
Harris "Funk Wave Bounces Vol. 2" is out today.
As stated on the "New To You"
post, four of the tracks have already been released as singles over the
last few weeks to promote the album and one of them, "Stay With Me", has a part 2 on the album. The clear standout is the last single with
"Nothing More To Say" being my pick of the remaining new songs. I thought "Lean On Me" was
going well until a rock guitar solo kicks in around the two minute
mark.
There is certainly an eclectic mix on the album with guest appearances on
every track from the likes on Snoop Dogg, Jorja Smith, Pharrell Williams,
Justin Timberlake and many others.
I'm afraid to say, for me, "New To You" flattered to deceive, as nothing else on the album comes anywhere near it. Not really an album for 'soulies' but if you like contemporary/urban dance tunes with rap and all that gubbins then it may be for you.
