A new artist to these pages who emerged in 2020.
Morgan Munroe is from Leicester who inevitably had to move
to London ('the centre of the universe'!) to pursue her career
aspirations.
Her latest single "Mutual" (4 May 2022) is another tune that uses The Ambassadors "I Really Love You" (1969) intro
(included below for those who don't know it) which has been doing the
rounds in recent months. Morgan certainly has a good set of pipes and
this is right up my street blending the old with the new and a singer who
can 'properly' sing.
Having had a skim through her earlier material this is definitely the
best track she's done to date.
Whilst this is marked as explicit, I didn't really notice anything
particularly bad, so with that caveat, I'd say that this will do well on
the soul charts.
