J.J. Barnes [1969] - Got To Get Rid Of You [Volt #VOA-4027]

For me this is the finest recording that J.J. (James Jay) Barnes made in his illustrious career. It was recorded towards the end of his 'main' career in 1969 before moving to England in the early 70s and recording for Blues & Soul's Contempo imprint followed by a few for Ian Levine's Motorcity 'empire' in the 90s.

It's been lined up for posting for several months just waiting for the opportunity and what better message for that contemptuous cretin in the Kremlin who is no doubt locked into his bunker whilst he orders his conscripts to terrorise the Ukrainians whilst lying to, and locking up his own citizens who dare to protest! I wonder how 'puffed up' he will be when he is held to account for the atrocious, obscene and inhumane war crimes he has already committed, but how many thousands will have to be killed, maimed and displaced beforehand, including his own conscripts? It's absolutely incomprehensible how this can happen in the 21st Century!

He needs to be removed one way or another and I know which one would be my preference. If it was good enough for Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden then it's more than good enough for him but sadly easier said than done. However, soon enough, when the sanctions bite, his own people will turn on him and will be queuing up for his head on a plate. What's that old saying? ... you can fool some of the people some of the time etc. With a bit of luck his own people will do the job for us.

What a monument this Groovesville J.J. Barnes reminds me of my youth. Who would have thought to use this title in the current context towards this crazy Poutine!!!
