The new double single from Michael Kiwanuka has a
similar feel to a couple of tracks on the Rob Ruha album "Preservation Of Scenery" (the current SoulStrutter Selection of the Week).
He is a singer/songwriter born in Muswell Hill, London in 1987, to
Ugandan parents who had fled Idi Amin's regime in the '70s
and emerged in 2011 and supported Adele on her 'Adele Live' UK tour to promote her sophomore album "21".
The following year he released his debut album "Home Again" which received a Mercury Prize nomination. His 2016 sophomore album
"Love & Hate" reached #1 on the UK chart. He has since received Grammy and Brit Award
nominations, and won the Mercury Prize, for his 2019 self-titled album. But
it's not been all plain sailing as he is a lifelong sufferer ... I mean
supporter, of Spurs (Tottenham Hotspur Football Club)!
