US Air Force veteran D. (Daryl) Saunders released a new album yesterday (12 Oct 2021) "Who Is D. Saunders The Gentleman of Soul" which is
his third to date along with around a dozen singles since 2012, many of
the singles appearing on the album.
It's essentially a southern soul affair, some traditional, some
contemporary. All songs are self-written.
The standout for me is the uptempo "I Gotta Go" which I would say has got
Northern Soul 'potential' ... but off course it won't get exposure unless
and until it is released on vinyl, another that will 'get away' unless one
of the UK vinyl labels latch on to it!
Other tracks of interest include "Cross The Tracks", a southern soul
beater, "Feeling You" "I Need Your Love", and "Cheating" a bluesy/southern soul deep cut, but there are plenty to gorge on for lovers of southern soul as there are 19 tracks included on the album.
