The latest release due from Ernie Mckone is a cover of
Brenda Russell's "In The Thick Of It" from her debut self-titled album from 1979. Assisting Ernie
is Valerie Etienne who was with Ernie in the band Galliano in the 90s. Since then Valerie has been backing Jamiroquai and Incognito and is lead singer in Bluey‘s Citrus Sun..
The single is due for release on Friday (8 Oct 2021)
I've include a live recording of the song which Brenda Russell performed in
Japan (possibly 1992?).
Back in 2012 Joey Negro (aka Dave Lee) also did a version with Angela
Johnson on vocals.
