Russ Cole deputised for Franklin Sinclair this week so there was no
'Essential 5'. There were five new entries Alvin Garrett, Char Elizabeth
(who I 'nudged' at in my comments last week) and two 'obvious' ones I
predicted last week, Kim Tavar and Will Downing (no Victor Haynes though) and one of last week's
breakers Reva DeVito & Midas Hutch is this week's highest new entry just
pipping Will Downing at #6.
Unfortunately Samm Henshaw hasn't progressed and stays rooted at #3 with
this week's highest climber Victoria Monet leapfrogging him into the second
slot. Last week's #2 D. Folks takes a nose dive to #15.
Still no place for GarciaWalker&Durrell, which I find quite bewildering
as it tops the Starpoint UK Soul chart for the third consecutive week and is
also the top viewed post on this blog for the last 30 days for the third
week running and has been since it was first posted on 27 Jul.
It's even more astonishing as if anyone can name a better, more complete, album
released this year then I'm open to suggestions as it must have passed me
by!
Losers:
Shaila Prospere, Jaszy Shavers, Jewell Booker, Portrait , Ms. Kriss
Highest Risers:
Victoria Monét (+10), Christopher Williams etc. (+6)
Biggest Fallers:
D.Folks (-13), Sidibe (-9), Kevin Ross (-7)
NB The 'Essential 5' and 'The Breakers' are listed in a separate post.
The album/EP tracks shown are the ones played on the Global Soul Chart
show.
