Japanese multi-instrumentalist Yuma Hara was born into a musical family, his father is guitarist Tomoya Hara and his
grandfather, Nobuo Hara, is leader of Sharps & Flats. He is yet another graduate of
Boston's Berklee College of Music, but has now relocated to Tokyo.
'Stay With Me' is the lead single from his second album 'Reality' released 12 May 2021 on the respected
Japanese P-Vine label, and a very nice Jazz Funk infused track it is
too set at around stepper pace. It features Monique Marian on vocals who was born in Jamaica but moved to Japan.
The final track featured in this week's Global Soul Essential 5. 'I like this one, I do'! ... or as D-Mac would say 'Get to know this one'!
I've only had a cursory skim through the album but it also sounds very good if you like your soul on the jazzy side. I'll probably post it later once I get through the singles.
